From 1st September 2014, all local authorities are required to publish a Local Offer for Parents, Carers, Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
The Local Offer tells Parents, Carers, Children and Young People what support and services are available for local Children and Young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and their families.
The key purposes of the local offer are:
- To give clear, comprehensive, accessible and up to date information about what’s available and how you can access the provision
- To make services and provision more responsive to local needs by involving disabled children, their parents, young people and service providers in the development and review of the offer.
Oldham’s Local offer can be accessed using the Local Offer button below and it contains details about a wide range of services and provision in Oldham.
Oldham SEND IAS Service have been involving parents, children and young people in the development of the local offer and will continue to ensure that we communicate opportunities for Parents, Carers, Children and Young People to review and develop the offer moving forward.
In addition to the Local Offer button below, you will also find information from Chapter 4 of the SEND Code of Practice which tells you in detail how the Local Offer must be implemented and developed by local authorities.
If you have any feedback about the local offer then please send this to Oldham SEND IAS Service by email: firstname.lastname@example.org or use the feedback button on the Local Offer website directly.
